Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of The Robinson Ranch website, inquiries, reservations, purchases, communications, and other transactions with The Robinson Ranch. By using this website, submitting a form, reserving a beef or pork share, making a payment, or otherwise purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About The Robinson Ranch

The Robinson Ranch is a family-owned Ohio farm offering locally raised agricultural products, including beef and pork shares and other products that may become available from time to time.

References in these Terms to “The Robinson Ranch,” “the Ranch,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to The Robinson Ranch.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to make a reservation or purchase through this website.

By submitting a reservation or order, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

3. Beef & Pork Share Reservations

A beef or pork share reservation reserves space within an upcoming livestock and processing cycle. Availability may be limited and is subject to livestock readiness, processing schedules, butcher availability, weather, agricultural conditions, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Reservation dates, processing dates, completion dates, hanging weights, packaged meat yields, and pickup dates are estimates unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.

The Ranch does not guarantee a specific final hanging weight, take-home weight, quantity of individual cuts, or exact processing date.

4. Non-Refundable Share Deposits

Deposits paid to reserve a beef or pork share are non-refundable once the reservation is submitted and accepted, except where a refund is required by applicable law or The Robinson Ranch is unable to fulfill the reservation.

The deposit:

- reserves the customer's share within the applicable production or processing cycle;

- is applied as a credit toward the customer's final balance owed to The Robinson Ranch;

- is not an additional charge when the reservation is completed; and

- does not include separate butcher, processing, smoking, curing, packaging, storage, or other third-party charges unless expressly stated otherwise.

If a customer voluntarily cancels, changes their mind, fails to complete required ordering steps, or otherwise elects not to complete a reserved share after acceptance, the reservation deposit remains non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Each separately reserved beef or pork share may require its own deposit.

Any deposit amount, applicable pricing, and additional charges will be disclosed during the reservation or checkout process.

5. Hanging Weight & Final Pricing

Beef and pork shares may be priced using the animal's hanging weight, rather than the final packaged weight placed in the customer's freezer.

Hanging weight is the weight recorded after slaughter and initial processing but before final cutting, trimming, deboning, aging, and packaging.

Because trimming, bones, fat, moisture loss, selected cuts, processing preferences, and other factors affect yield, the amount of packaged meat received will be less than the hanging weight.

The applicable Ranch price or pricing formula will be disclosed during the reservation process. Once the actual hanging weight is available, the customer's final Ranch balance will be calculated and communicated.

Pricing displayed on the website may be changed for future reservations. Pricing applicable to an accepted reservation will be determined by the terms disclosed in connection with that reservation unless the customer and Ranch mutually agree otherwise.

6. Butcher & Processing Charges

Unless expressly stated otherwise, butchering and processing charges are separate from amounts owed to The Robinson Ranch.

Depending on the animal and processing selections, separate charges may include slaughter, cutting, wrapping, vacuum sealing, smoking, curing, sausage preparation, specialty processing, storage, or other requested services.

Customers are responsible for amounts owed directly to the designated processor or butcher according to that processor's policies.

The butcher or processor may communicate directly with the customer regarding cut instructions, processing selections, availability, pickup, and amounts owed for processing.

7. Custom Cut Instructions

Where custom processing is available, customers may be asked to provide cutting and processing instructions directly to the designated butcher.

Available cuts and processing options depend on the share size, animal, anatomy, processing facility capabilities, and the customer's selections.

Not every cut can be selected simultaneously. Selecting one processing option may reduce or eliminate another cut from the same portion of the animal.

Customers are responsible for responding to requests for cut instructions within the communicated timeframe. Delays in submitting instructions may delay processing or require the butcher to use standard processing selections.

8. Estimates & Natural Product Variations

Livestock are agricultural products and naturally vary in size, weight, composition, and yield.

Any example hanging weights, packaged weights, freezer-space estimates, cut quantities, total costs, timelines, or other examples appearing on our website are provided for planning purposes only, unless expressly identified as guaranteed.

Your actual order may differ.

9. Final Balances

After the applicable hanging weight or final Ranch charge has been determined, customers will receive notice of the remaining balance owed to The Robinson Ranch.

Payment must be made by the deadline communicated with the balance notice.

Failure to complete payment, processing instructions, pickup requirements, or other necessary steps within communicated deadlines may result in cancellation of the reservation or other reasonable action necessary to manage the product, subject to applicable law.

A non-refundable reservation deposit will not ordinarily be returned because a customer fails to complete the transaction.

10. Pickup & Responsibility for Perishable Products

Customers are responsible for picking up completed meat or other perishable products at the location and within the timeframe communicated to them.

Once meat or another perishable product has been transferred to the customer, the customer is responsible for proper transportation, refrigeration, freezing, handling, preparation, and storage.

Customers should inspect their order at pickup and promptly notify the Ranch or applicable processor of any apparent order discrepancy.

The Ranch is not responsible for spoilage or deterioration caused after pickup by improper transportation, handling, thawing, refrigeration, freezing, storage, power loss, delayed pickup, or other circumstances outside our control.

11. Product Availability

All products, shares, dates, and quantities are subject to availability.

We reserve the right to limit quantities, close reservations, create waitlists, substitute an appropriate processing cycle with customer notice, or discontinue products.

Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee availability.

If The Robinson Ranch accepts payment for a reservation that we ultimately cannot reasonably fulfill, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law and the terms applicable to that transaction.

12. Other Products

From time to time, The Robinson Ranch may offer additional agricultural, food, wood, skin care, merchandise, or other products.

Product-specific descriptions, pricing, pickup or delivery information, return restrictions, warranties, and other terms displayed on the applicable product page or checkout become part of these Terms.

If product-specific terms conflict with these general Terms, the more specific terms applicable to that transaction will control to the extent permitted by law.

Because certain food products are perishable, return or refund eligibility may be limited after the product has been transferred to the customer, except in cases involving an incorrect or defective order or where otherwise required by law.

13. Payments

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method and authorize the applicable charge.

You are responsible for reviewing the product, reservation type, deposit amount, pricing information, and applicable additional charges before completing payment.

Nothing in these Terms waives any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived or any rights available under applicable payment-network rules or applicable law.

14. Transactional Communications

Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

16. Marketing Emails

If you elect to receive promotional emails, newsletters, product announcements, availability alerts, or other marketing communications from The Robinson Ranch, you may unsubscribe using the unsubscribe option included in applicable marketing emails or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not necessarily prevent transactional communications relating to an existing reservation, purchase, payment, or customer-service request.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Robinson Ranch will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation or exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

24. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

Agricultural operations are affected by circumstances that may not be reasonably foreseeable or controllable.

The Ranch will not be considered in breach of these Terms for reasonable delays or inability to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, livestock health events, disease, processing-facility interruptions, equipment failure, utility outages, governmental action, transportation disruption, labor shortages, emergencies, natural disasters, or similar events.

When practical, we will communicate material delays affecting existing reservations.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our products, operations, communications practices, or legal obligations.

The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated Last Updated date.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions About Buying Beef and Pork From The Robinson Ranch

Buying meat directly from a local farm can feel unfamiliar the first time. These answers explain the basics of reserving a share, customizing your cuts, understanding hanging weight and finding individual Robinson Ranch products locally.

What meat shares does The Robinson Ranch offer?

The Robinson Ranch offers quarter, half and whole beef shares, along with half and whole hog shares. Availability may vary based on current reservations and butcher processing schedules.

How much is the deposit to reserve a beef or pork share from The Robinson Ranch?

A $250 deposit is required to reserve a beef share, and a $250 deposit is required to reserve a pork share from The Robinson Ranch. If you reserve both beef and pork, the total deposit is $500. Your deposit is applied toward your final balance with The Robinson Ranch. Final meat pricing is based on hanging weight, and butcher processing fees are separate.

What does hanging weight mean?

Hanging weight is the weight of the animal after initial processing but before the meat is cut, trimmed and packaged. Your final take-home weight will be lower than the hanging weight.

Are butcher processing fees included in the listed price?

No. The listed farm price is based on hanging weight. Butcher processing, smoking, curing and specialty options are separate and may vary based on your cutting instructions.

Can I choose how my beef or pork is cut?

Yes. Share customers can select from available options such as steak thickness, roast sizes, ground meat packaging and certain pork selections, including bacon, ham and sausage.

Where is The Robinson Ranch located?

The Robinson Ranch is located in Waynesville, Ohio, and serves families throughout Dayton, Cincinnati and surrounding Southwest Ohio communities.

Where do I pick up my finished meat?

Pickup instructions depend on the butcher handling your order. You will receive the location, payment details and pickup information once processing is complete.

How much freezer space do I need?

Freezer space depends on the size of your share and the cuts you choose. A quarter beef requires less space than a half or whole beef, while a half hog generally requires less room than a whole hog.

Can I buy Robinson Ranch meat without purchasing a full share?

Yes. Participating local butcher shops and retail partners may carry individual cuts such as steaks, ground beef, roasts, pork chops, bacon and sausage. Inventory varies by location.

Do you sell smoker wood and firewood?

Yes. The Robinson family also offers kiln-dried smoker wood and local firewood through Kiln Dried Wood Company. Smoker wood is a natural pairing with Robinson Ranch beef and pork, while kiln-dried firewood is available for fireplaces, fire pits, and outdoor use. Availability and pickup options may vary.

Can I add smoker wood or firewood when I reserve a beef or pork share?

Yes. Customers reserving Robinson Ranch beef or pork can also shop kiln-dried smoker wood or local firewood. Smoker wood is especially popular for brisket, ribs, steaks, pork, and other low-and-slow cooks. Wood purchases are separate from your meat-share deposit and final farm balance.

How long does the process take?

Timing depends on the reservation schedule, butcher availability and the type of share ordered. You will receive updates as your order moves through processing.

Do I need to know all of my cuts before reserving?

No. You can reserve first, and the butcher will guide you through the available cutting and packaging options when it is time to complete your instructions.

How do I reserve a beef or pork share?

Visit the Reserve Your Share page, choose your share type, complete the form and submit the $250 deposit. The Robinson Ranch will then confirm your reservation and next steps.
